Real heroes that brought a change for the betterment of our society


Carloine & Marie - Knitting Nanis
When Marie Chelho and Caroline Smart heard about kids in a village in Chhattisgarh who had to sit on the cold floor of their school, they sprung to action and knitted through the monsoon for kids who struggled to attend school in the harsh cold winters. Marie and Carloine are also known as ‘Knitting Nanis’.

Anil Patil – ‘Carers Worldwide’
Anil Patil launched ‘CARERS WORLDWIDE’ – An organisation, first of its kind to attend to the needs of carers and care givers in developing countries. ‘Carers Worldwide’ works with carers in developing countries & aims to improve support, services and recognition for anyone living with the challenges for caring of a family member or a friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health problems.

Rajkumari Devi – Kisaan Chachi
Kisaan Chachi is a self-acquired expertise in agriculture she has become proficient in assessing the quality of the soil in her area and ensuring successful harvests. Through the experience of three decades ‘Kisaan Chachi’, as she is called, has learnt all the nuances of good farming practices. She banned and replaced tobacco farming with vegetable farming thus encouraging women employment.
Armstrong Pame – Peoples Road
He is the first IAS officer from Zeme Tribe of the people in Nagaland. He built a 100 km long motor able road to connect a remote part of Manipur to Nagaland and Assam, without government help
